went w/friends. about 30 min. wait. had booth. all ordered a beer and it was 2 for price of one...a good deal. one other person and I ordered the "blackened" mahi mahi. it was good, but either the server mis -ordered, or kitchen produces a non-black, no heat, no spice product. not what I thought I had ordered. one other party had prime rib that was almost raw in parts. could have been a better meal. happy trails

This was our 3rd time there, it's been great every time. During "prime season" - before the snow birds leave, it is always crowded for dinner. They do take reservations, as we did it once for a party of 18. Happy Hour daily 11am - 7pm, great deal. Steaks are wonderful. My last time there for lunch, I ordered a big salad, it was fantastic. Warm rolls served with Cinnamon Butter, all you can eat salad for dinners -- always great. This last time we enjoyed the Carrot Cake for dessert... it's not cheap, but it's 4 layers and probably the best carrot cake I've ever had. 2 of us split it and still had left overs. A must visit if you are in the area... come early or call for reservations.

It was our first visit, and a decent lunch for sure. We had French onion soups and the 'special' for lunch, a grilled ham and cheese on marbled rye with fries. We were among the first seated, and found the seating pleasant and quick. Service was acceptable, not exceptional, as was most everything else here. While nothing was 'bad' , it was also lack luster at best. The soup was short on onions, but tasted well. The sandwich could have used a slice or three more meat, but tasted well, nonetheless. For me though, I am very picky with my fries, and I did enjoy them, with the help of their house branded steak sauce. Will we return, yes, when, eventually...

For Fri July 31. Sat outside on large deck. Live entertainment, lively but not boisterous crowd. Lots of dancing. Great atmosphere. Friendly andnprompt service. Good prices. Food - adequate. Comfort food quality. Had prime rib - garlic saved it. Salmon: OK. Soups: solid and good portion step up over canned. Solid not spectacular but fair for the price points. Atmosphere, service, entertainment reason for sol8d four stars. I will go back and try the BBQ which may be their sweet spot.

The service was ok, but the food was not what I was expecting. The Queso dip tasted like just melted cheese. The salads were warm and the bread was cold (not sure if that's how it's supposed to be), but not good. The steak was ok but they could use seasoning and they could lay off the garlic in the mashed potatoes. Most likely won't be back definitely not worth the money.

Not the bartenders fault, but, running out of popular draft beers on a Sunday Football game day is inexcusable! Overwhelmed bartenders, insufficient servers, and overwelmed kitchen staff is owners responsibility! I will try this bar one more time.

Had a great Thanksgiving meal here. Pumpkin pie was fantastic and the service was top notch for such a busy day. Smart move on the part of this newer location being open for Thanksgiving. Most other options remained closed. Too bad it was not a bit warmer out to take advantage of the outdoor seating. Kevin Bell Retired In The Villages, FL (Lady Lake)

Came in for lunch with wife and friend. Had chicken noodle soup - very salty, light on the noodle and chicken. The roadhouse grilled chicken salad was OK. The lettuce was crisp and fresh and the portion of grilled chicken reasonable. My wife had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich which she deemed excellent. My friend had the fish tacos which was OK - he wished the fish was grilled not breaded and fried but otherwise was fine. Picking on peanuts is always fun. The dinner rolls were soft and tasty. Atmosphere was OK if you like the cowboy feel.

We were in town this past weekend for Bike Fest and this place was recommended. We were a party of 8 and arrived around 9pm STARVING. Big mistake, as it was an hour wait. We somehow was able to score a around table in the bar area after 10 mins and cramped in. No problem thou, we were happy! Server, Nikki, was DA BOMB! She was on her game and never missed a beat! Smiled, joked and got all our apps, drinks out quick! Dinners arrived in a timely fashion afterwards. Not bad at all considering how busy the place was!! She was quick to take dirty plates so to make room on our 6 top table to we made work for 8 ppl, all while being cheerful and joking. Great food too: burgers, salads, chicken dinner, chicken quesdilla, Prime Rib, onion rings, buffalo shrimp app, mozz sticks, etc - great food delivered hot and fast. Yummy rolls with cinnamon butter!! we were too stuffed for dessert. She was even thoughtful enough to automatically bring us doggie bags for leftovers (instead of foam to-go boxes) knowing we had to packed them in the motorcycles. Good common sense Nikki!! Good drink specials too! We'll be back here next year for Bike Fest! All thanks to Nikki! Management owes her a bonus!

We stopped here for lunch today and was sorely disappointed! Table service was inefficient in all areas. Menu is priced high for the portion. Taste of food was mediocre. We probably will not return. Our waiter, Chris , needs more supervised OJT.

Just received horrible service. Waitress Heidi was slow and inattentive. We never received a refill for the whole meal until we flagged down manager Brian who didn't seem to care we were receiving bad service. No excuses the restaurant was almost empty. No apologie from Brian the Manger and no offer for a discount on the bill. Not the kind of service you expect in the villages. Don't eat a Cody's. Plenty of other choices with best service and better food.

Smaller chain version (IIRC about 4 places) of your typical chain casual steakhouse. Went there as part of a group close to Christmas. Groups always seem to have some issues with service, but ours wasn't too bad at all considering we were spread out over three tables, so kudos to the waiter. It was Happy Hour and the 2-4-1, even on top shelf liquor (Double Jameson's neat with a water back, anyone?) was priced just right. After the chaos of appetizers and all of that settled down, I ordered the half rotisserie chicken. Says it marinades for a day and was very tasty. I wold have liked the skin to be crispier though (Those of you who have read my reviews of chicken places know I HATE soggy chicken skin). The bottomless salad (think Olive Garden) was good and the baked sweet potato rounded out a very filling meal. The amount of the food was not so over the top that I felt bloated or uncomfortably stuffed, but I still didn't have room for dessert. This one is located in the Villages and the snowbirds are back, so at this time, (December), be prepared to possibly wait or make a reservation as The Villages folks ALL seem to eat out every meal! (I don't know why builders bother to put kitchens in those homes - all most seem to need is a coffee maker and a microwave). If you are down in the Wildwood area, check out ALL of the places to eat in the new Brownwood Town Center, but try Cody's first

I have been to the other Cody's in The Villages and liked it. This place was just as good. Happy Hour with 241 drinks. Food was terrific. Group of 5 had 2 x prime rib, short ribs, fajita and fish. All were very good. Place was packed on a Saturday evening, but this added to the casual atmosphere. I'll be back.

Food terrible. Ordered fish and chips and the Breading was super thick and burnt and if there was fish underneath all of that Breading it was dry. Steak was also burnt and dry. Have eaten at Codys in Lake Sumter and it was also terrible. Thought I would give them a third try but yuk. Never going back I will say the service was great but try to,talk to a manager haha. Didn't want to be bothered. Also the place is very noisy and the table are close together.

This place is a visual delight to see. Didn't disappoint us with the meal either or the price for 2 people only $33 before tip. I had the chicken avocado sandwich and my husband had the filet mignon. Both were very good. We both had the sweet potato with cinnamon butter, and he also had a garden salad that he said was cold and fresh and delicious! It was very busy when we got there but service was fast, efficient, and friendly! Recommend!

It is too bad that atrocious is not an available description for this place. I went to Cody's with a coworker at ten pm. We ordered burgers, medium. When our burgers arrived, they were overcooked and charred beyond being edible. It amazes me the cook and server found this acceptable to send out and place on our table to eat. I found the meal so unacceptable I wouldn't even take the leftovers home for my pets. I've eaten in other Cody's and have never experienced such a horrendous meal. This Cody's is owned by the same people that own the ones in Sumter Landing and Ocala and in both those restaurants the food has always been good. I would steer clear of this Cody's.

we came here for appetizers and drinks they have an outdoor bar area and an indoor dining room we walked in (there was about a 20 minute wait for the dining room) so we went to the outdoor bar area - but were told that it was part of the dining room and had to have our name on the list - feh - so we sat at the bar and had a couple of beers (cold and beer - what else?) and looking at the bar menu decided to get some onion rings - they were priced per ring - I know, odd right?- so we ordered 5 OMG they were at least an inch and a half wide slices of onion - huge took an effort but we did finish them - though I would recommend the ranch dip rather than the bland turmeric dip that they serve them with

Ol' Codys..any new restaurant that pops up around your home you have to try at least once right? That's probably good enough for me when speaking of Codys. It's a run of the mill chain restaurant with that "roadhouse" theme that seems to be gaining popularity (again). The service was nice, our waitress was attentive, friendly and on the ball. For the money, the food is a letdown. Seasoning goes a long way. Maybe it was an off night and they deserve a second chance, or maybe I just have a couple of cold ones here next time and move on. The outside patio facing the pond and Hwy 44 is a really chill place to have a couple of beers and relax. I reckon my best recommendation for Codys is the atmosphere for pleasant viewing during cold beer consumption.

Came to Codys today for a bite to eat with my dog, a maltepoo, in the outdoor pet friendly area. When I sat at the table my dog jumped into my lap. She was nervous with all of the noise. So she sat in my lap away from the table for about a minute to settle down. I put her down on the floor. The maitre d (I think she had a black shirt on) came over to me and said that she had a complaint that my dog was sitting at the table. She never asked if I had my dog sitting at the table. She just said keep the dog from sitting at the table. I thought that was rude to accuse me of something without asking. It was happy hour in full swing. Maybe there was a pink elephant next to me too. I've been here about 4 times before. First time with my dog though. My neighbors in the villages who have dogs will think twice. The food is great. It had been in my last visits. Food and other staff get a 5. But I am still very offended by the rude woman. Never accuse some one of something unless you have all your facts. I will not come here again with my dog. My food became cold and we left. My money works elsewhere.

We like this restaurant. We went a couple of times on Sunday and had their Sunday specials. We were not disappointed. We had the rotisserie chicken, roast beef, pot roast which were specials. We also had a rib eye steak and Steak & lobster. I would order the rib eye again, not great but good, the sirloin was sirloin and the lobster was great. During happy hour you order one drink and they bring out two. Both times we had good service. We will return.
